RRP Electronics leads the way with Maharashtra’s first semiconductor facility

RRP Electronics collaborates with European firms to set up Maharashtra’s maiden semiconductor facility, committing a Rs 5,000 crore investment over five years.

The power semiconductor manufacturer gears up for construction, scheduling the foundation stone laying ceremony on March 23, 2024, in a sprawling 25,000 sq ft area. Subsequently, an additional Rs 5,000 crore will be infused in the second phase.

The company vows to accelerate project implementation by initiating outsourced semiconductor assembly and testing (OSAT) with support from technology partners. An accompanying R&D centre will continuously integrate cutting-edge advancements into semiconductor technologies.

Seeking the Maharashtra government’s support, RRP Electronics aims to establish a versatile unit featuring OSATfab foundry and manufacturing lines. The facility targets diverse sectors, including automotive, power, and electronics, promising manifold industry contributions.
